OUR BACKGROUND
Yorke Construction Limited was established in 1957 by Reg Yorke, the father of the current Directors. Initially specialising in small building projects in the Gloucester area, the business grew year on year, developing a reputation for reliability and high quality work.
In 1991 Richard Yorke took over the business with energetic plans to grow the business further, using ideas and processes learned whilst running a construction business in Australia.
The result is a company that marries the care and attention to detail of a small family business with the skills, financial control and management style of a substantial plc.
OUR PEOPLE
As with any company, Yorke construction is only as good as its workforce. The management team is structured across all disciplines with everyone focussing on the continuous training (internally and externally) of both site and office based staff. The team of contract managers work alongside the QS and estimator functions with each 'project team' headed by one of the senior management board.
Yorke Construction is one of the largest supporters of the apprentice schemes in the area. Many of our young employees remain with us long after their training period is over and, in turn, are encouraged to mentor their own apprentices. We believe passionately that everyone deserves a chance in life and, through our association with Prospect Training Services, we have provided many under-privileged youngsters with the chance to learn new skills and forge new careers.
