Yorke Construction Wins Prestigious Award
Contract Journal 'Best Places to Work in Construction' Awards
Recently Yorke Construction Limited, an established building firm in the South West region, was bowled over to win the special "Most Improved Performance Year on Year" award at this year's Contract Journal 'Best Places to Work in Construction' nationwide Awards. In its third year, the Contract Journal Awards ceremony was held last week at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London, and Yorke Construction was one of 39 companies that reached the final nominations for 2007. Yorke was also shortlisted in the Building Contractor 11-50 Staff category. The Awards aim to find and recognise those construction companies who are rated the best in construction and with the highest levels of staff satisfaction. Uniquely it is the companies' own employees who decide the outcome.
"We are delighted and very proud to win this prestigious award - an award we have won as a result of the dedication and work excellence from the whole team. We invest a lot of time and effort in staff motivation and skills training across the company, and as part of this commitment we typically have 3 or 4 apprentices at any one time working on our apprentice scheme," said Richard Yorke, managing director at Yorke Construction.
