Yorke Passes IIP Audit with Flying Colours
Following a recent Investors in People review, the report showed that since receiving IIP certification in 2004, Yorke Construction has continued a proactive programme in seeking new training and development opportunities, with formal and regular staff reviews.
The appointment of the Contracts Director has created human resource disciplines and processes appropriate to a growing company, and the commitment to train apprentices and grow new skills was a notable achievement in the IIP audit. The assessor also noted that the senior management team had put considerable effort into creating a more inclusive, open culture within the organisation. Management development has been considerably enhanced with the introduction of regular meetings in the office and also with the site staff. This has given site managers the opportunity to learn from each other and develop their skills - one site manager has undertaken NVQ assessment for first-line management.
