This was the construction of a 4,000 square metre international indoor sports arena at the prestigious Equine Centre at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire. A clad steel frame superstructure, spanning over eighty metres, encloses a six hundred, fully seated stadium. It is constructed from pre cast concrete terrace units overlooking the main, seventy by fifty five metre equine arena. There are classroom facilities on two levels and a large catering facility which is divided from the main arena by extensive glazed curtain walling. A lift was constructed linking the ground and first floor as part of a fully integrated disabled access design. The International Sports Arena will become one of the most important international venues for the upcoming 2012 Olympics.
