This was the construction of a two-storey facility to create a new learning resource centre with extensive library facilities and a large IT suite. The structure consisted of a timber frame supporting a series of monopitch roofs at six different angles, incorporating two huge automated rooflights. The building is clad in a mixture of Trespa panels and through coloured render and has been built to a high level of sustainability. The new centre has won wide acclaim, not least because the pupils were involved throughout the design and build process.
